SAN DIEGO —
This year’s San Diego County Teachers of the Year have resurrected at-risk students’ interest in school, comforted students living in poverty and found ways to make learning relevant to students’ lives...Don Dumas says people like him don’t usually become teachers...Dumas is an AP U.S. History teacher and boys varsity basketball coach at Bonita Vista High School. He seeks to help students who struggle like he did.
