Hello Friends,
It was a busy week for us, as we worked very hard on launching our campaign. On Saturday evening, my gracious friends Cheryl Bayley and her awesome husband, Roman Del Rosario launched my campaign at their house. Co-host Lucy Ugarte gave a wonderful speech on my behalf, and I am forever grateful to you all.
It was a great night with good food, good beverages, and amazing company. I was able to mingle and chat with supporters about the future of Southwestern College specifically and our entire region in general. I am infinitely grateful and humbled by the outpouring of support from people, and I thank each and everyone of you who attended and donated to our campaign.
On Friday, I attended the Associated Student Organization’s Speaker Series where they invited California Secretary of State Dr. Shirley Weber to speak about the importance of voting. It was incredibly inspiring.
Later that day, I was fortunate to earn the endorsement of CSEA, the classified union at Southwestern College. The photo you see here is me with their president, the incomparable Silvia Nogales.
And just a few minutes ago, I earned the endorsement of San Diego Labor Dems. This brings my list of endorsements to include: San Diego Democrats, San Diego Democratic Education Alliance, Eastlake-Bonita Democrats, SCEA, CSEA, Carpenter’s Union, and elected officials Lucy Ugarte, Cesar Fernandez, and Adrian Arancibia.
